The 30,000 sq ft purpose built centre covers two floors with thirteen GP consulting rooms, a large physiotherapy unit, hydrotherapy pool and a wide range of enhanced services such as minor surgery. It also has meeting/teaching rooms along with a conference suite.
Part of the centre’s ongoing development programme was to address issues faced with the ageing fluorescent lighting – dark corridors, dim consulting rooms and gloomy waiting areas.
The solution was found by using the Luceco Specification Service which provided a full lighting plan of the proposed works with retrofit and replacement recommendations, including detailed figures for return on investment, CO2 savings, year-by-year and gross savings, plus highlighting how much extra light the new LED product would provide to improve each area.
Climate LED Array was used to great effect in the Hydrotherapy area where a water resistant IP rating was required, also the plant room and stores which demand the impact resilience assured by Climate’s IK08 rating.
Using Circular LuxPanel, the design team focused patient attention on transit and information areas such as corridors, entrances/exits and reception, whilst using Edgelit Luxpanel to improve the feeling of well-being in the waiting areas and consulting rooms.
