Khorfakkan Sports & Cultural Club was one of the first sports clubs established in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. A complete refurbishment programme has recently taken place by the Sharjah government agency, the Directorate of Public Works. After successfully completing various lighting design submissions and evaluation processes, Luceco supplied a host of energy saving, cost effective LED luminaires to relight the entire sports centre, indoor play areas, VIP gallery, communal spaces and exterior of the grounds.
In order to meet high definition recording standards in the main hall and provide the required lux levels in line with CIBSE guidelines, the old conventional 2KW floodlights were replaced with Kingfisher Lighting’s 400W HighBay LED-S. Other interior luminaires used in circulation spaces included LuxPanel, Carbon Downlights and Atlas Bulkheads. The classic LuxPanel design offers high efficacy performance and maximum energy savings, available in standard fixed output and dimmable. Carbon Downlights are an ideal replacement for compact fluorescent fittings and are designed to retrofit ceiling cut outs of common traditional downlights.
Luceco’s Guardian Pro Floodlights were used for the external lighting. Ranging from 50W to 245W, 6,800 to 30,000 lumens achieving up to 136 Llm/cW, Guardian Pro features ‘fit and tilt’ brackets for simple installation with tilt adjustment locks. This horizontal commercial grade floodlight is designed to replace HID fittings and offers 70,000 hours of maintenance free working life.
